This is the first classic party theme on the boys list and has probably been used as a party theme for boys for more than 50 years. It is the pirate theme. The Peter Pan movie was released in 1953 and I guess that was the beginning of it all, at least on a larger scale. Nowadays we have all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies which of course have created a massive upturn for this birthday party theme. With a bit of imagination, handy craft and some party accessories you should be able to create a fabulous party from this theme, I am thinking plastic swords, eye patches, pirate bandanas or captain hooks hats, the rest is up to you. The balloon and decorations available really set the scene.
We are not done with Disney yet, in 2nd place we have the adorable Minnie Mouse. You can never get enough of Minnie Mouse, I still love Minnie as an adult and all my three children love her too. She is just too cute to put away and her popularity all over the world is ever increasing. You can get lots of really nice decorations and accessories for the Minnie theme, nice balloons, banners, backdrops and dangling decorations. I will give the headwear a special mention again, the Minnie Mouse headbands are absolutely gorgeous and are a really nice take home prize for the guests. The cute treat purses are also really nice and you can get some fancy stickers, pencils and more. The Minnie Mouse theme is absolutely a safe bet and will put smiles on all the children's faces.
Curious George, our 9th most popular party theme, is a cheeky, but cute and amusing monkey, very eager to explore his surroundings. Younger children love this monkey, both girls and boys, and there is lots of variety available in party supplies, more than enough to create a fantastic pre-schooler birthday party. Along with the cups, plates and napkins, there are invitations, decorations, games, stickers and lots more accessories. Because the colours in this theme are quite basic, maybe try combining this theme with plain coloured themes, just red or green or blue or a mix of colours. Look out for the cool bubble bath monkeys, they make a great contribution to the loot bag for this theme.
The centerpiece of any kids birthday party is the activities- the birthday party games. You can find on overwhelming number of game ideas on the web, many of which can be tweaked to follow on your party's theme. This is the place to spend your time and brainpower since this is the fun that will determine the success of your birthday celebration. As this is the party component that gives many parents the willies, use the money you saved on food, invitations, goody bags and decorations to purchase your activities on line, which is still far cheaper than hiring anyone to come to your house to entertain. You'll still come out ahead in the savings department.
