Instead of purchasing those costumes, special foods and decorations why not make your Halloween party a do it yourself project. Chances are not only will your party be a huge success but you'll also have more fun when you create everything for your party yourself from your costumes right down to the invitations and decorations. Just think if you were to buy or rent a Halloween costume, you would probably pay $50.00 or more for something really nice. However, by using a few articles from your closet and visiting the dollar store and thrift shop to buy additions such as crazy hats, jewelry and feather boas you can create your own costume for under $10.00. However, the savings doesn't have to stop there. Think of how much you can save on the cost of food for your party by making your own dips and sauces, cup cakes and cookies and other fun foods rather than purchasing them all readymade.
Another egg carton Halloween decoration is the egg carton bat. Instead of using just one egg cup, this bat requires three cups in a row. The two outer cups need to be cut down to resemble the wings of the bat. Paint and decorate the cups to look like a bat and string up using the same fishing line you used with the egg carton spider. For a twist, you can also paint on some red fangs to make the egg carton bats look even scarier.
